By visiting our Website, you are accepting this Policy. To make things a bit easier, in this Policy, we will refer to you and the other individuals who visit or utilize this Website as “you”‘ or “Users.”

This Policy sets out why we collect personal information about you and the other Users who visit and utilize the Website, and how we use that information. It also explains the legal basis for that collection and use, and the rights you and the other Users have over the way the information is used.

Information WDF Collects

  1. Information You Provide

The type and amount of information we collect depends on why you are providing it. In certain cases, the information we collect includes “personal information,” which means data that allows someone to identify you, including, for example, your name, address, geographic location of your computer or mobile device, telephone number, and/or email address.

We always collect and process your personal information in a lawful manner. We also comply with data minimization principles. In other words, through your use of the Website, we try to collect and process only the minimal amount of personal information required to deliver the Website to you. We do, however, provide avenues where you are able to supply additional information voluntarily through the Website. If we collect information about you through the Website other than as described in this Policy, we will give you notice and/or seek your explicit consent.

The information we collect (including personal information) when you make an enquiry or contact WDF via the Website or email includes your name, organization, email address, and any information you include in your message to WDF.

If you make a donation to WDF, we will use a third party payment processor to process that donation, which is currently PayPal. If you choose to make a donation via our third party payment processor, you will be asked to provide certain information to process that payment and for identification and verification, such as your PayPal account information, name, credit, debit or other card number, card expiration date, and/or CVV code. This information is encrypted and sent to the third party payment processor. We do not store or have access to this payment information, however, we may receive other personal information about you, such as your name and/or email address. Note that our third party payment processors may retain this information in accordance with their own privacy policies and terms. You may read more about PayPal’s privacy practices here: https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full.

  2. Information Collected Automatically

Whenever you use or visit the Website, we collect certain types of non-personal information automatically. By “non-personal information,” we mean information about you that cannot be used, and is not stored, in a way that can identify you. The types of non-personal information WDF collects include your IP address, referring URL, operating system, cookie information, information about your operating environment, and Internet Service Provider. In addition:

    • The Website may collect information about your location based on your IP address. An IP address is a non-static identifier that allows WDF to know, in general terms, where Users are located. An IP address is not the same as a physical address and is not the same as either your shipping address or your billing address. WDF may use your IP address for internal purposes such as knowing which countries provide certain percentages of its Users. WDF does not distribute your IP address to any other person or entity. WDF does not verify your IP address or connect it to you in any way. Your IP is used by WDF to try to identify you personally.

    • WDF may collect information such as the number of Users using the Website at any given time, the times during which Users visit the Website, the length of time that Users use the Website, which pages they visit, and what other actions they take while on the Website. This information is used by WDF to track the engagement, general geographic origin, and headcount of its Users. This information may be combined together to provide general demographic information on the Website’s Users. This information is not and cannot be used to identify you personally.

  3. Social Media

Our Website may include certain social media features, such as the Facebook “Like” button and widgets, such as the “Share this” button. These features may collect your IP address and information about which page you are visiting on our Website. Social media features and widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Website. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it.

In addition, WDF has social media pages. Any information submitted there may be read and viewed publicly.

How WDF Uses and Shares the Collected Information

We use information (which may include personal information) for the following purposes:

  1. When You Give Us Consent

We may share your personal information when you authorize us to share your personal information with others. Remember that their use of your information will be governed by their privacy policies and terms.

We may use your personal information to promote new features or products that we think you would be interested in. However, we will only send you marketing communications and updates about our Website and events with your prior consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

You may manage your receipt of marketing and non-required communications by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link located on the bottom of any such email. Additionally, you may send a request to contact@worlddreamfoundation.org.

  6. For Legal Reasons or To Prevent Harm

We may preserve or disclose your personal information to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to assert legal rights or defend against legal claims; or to prevent, detect, or investigate illegal activity, fraud, abuse, violations of our Terms of Services, or threats to the security of the Website or the physical safety of any person.

  7. De-Identified Information

We may share personal information that is aggregated or de-identified so that it cannot reasonably be used to identify any User. We may disclose such information publicly and to third parties and partners under agreement with WDF.

  8. Affiliates

We may share your personal information with our subsidiaries, affiliates and companies acquired by or merged with us and our affiliates.

  9. WDF’s Legal Basis for Processing Your Personal Information

WDF may process your personal information because:

    • We have a contract with you;

    • You have given us permission to do so; and/or

    • To comply with the law.

For these reasons, WDF may legally process the personal information we have about you.

  10. What if You Choose Not to Provide Required Information

In addition, WDF uses appropriate safeguards that are designed to protect the confidentiality, integrity and security of personal information that we collect and maintain against accidental or unlawful loss, theft and misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration destruction, or any other type of unlawful processing. However, as the Internet is an inherently dangerous place, we cannot, fully guarantee the security of personal information or other information transmitted to or through the Website.

WDF’s Use of Cookies

This Website utilizes cookies. As such, it is necessary that you enable cookies in your browser to be able to fully use the Website, and you hereby acknowledge that we have informed you of our use of cookies and that you consent to our use of cookies in relation to the platform by which you are accessing our Website. You may withdraw your consent to WDF’s use of cookies at any time by contacting WDF as provided below.

In addition, WDF may use various third party services that may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect information about the Website’s usage. Such services include, but are not limited to, web analytics services and social media services. However, this Policy does not cover cookies practices used by third party service providers. Instead, this section tells you about what types of cookies may be utilized on this Website.

  1. What are Cookies?

Cookies are text files, containing small amounts of information, which are downloaded to your browsing device (such as a computer or smartphone) when you visit a website. Cookies can be recognized by the website that downloaded them or other websites that use the same cookies. This helps websites know if the browsing device has visited them before.

  2. What are Cookies Used For?

Cookies do lots of different jobs, like helping WDF understand how the Website is being used, letting you navigate between pages efficiently, and generally improving your experience.

  3. What Types of Cookies Does WDF Use?

The type of cookies used on most websites can generally be put into one of six categories: strictly necessary, performance, functionality, flash, tailored content and targeting. In order to provide you with the best browsing experience, this Website may utilize session cookies, performance cookies, and/or strictly necessary cookies. The following will tell you a bit about each of those types of cookies:

    • Session Cookies

Sessions cookies are cookies that are erased when a user closes a web browser. The session cookie is stored in temporary memory and is not retained after the browser is closed. Session cookies do not collect information from a user’s computer. Should WDF utilize session cookies, then the cookies will be used to store information in the form of a session identification that does not personally identify the user.

    • Strictly Necessary Cookies

Some cookies are strictly necessary in order to enable you to move around the Website and use its features. Without these cookies, WDF will not be able to determine the number of unique users of the Website or possibly provide certain features available on the Website.

    • Performance Cookies

We may use performance cookies across the Website for internal purposes to help us to provide you with a better experience. Information supplied by performance cookies helps us to understand how our users use the Website so that we can improve how we present our content to you.

  4. How Long Will Cookies Stay on your Browsing Device?

The length of time a cookie will stay on your browsing device depends on whether it is a “persistent” or “session” cookie. Session cookies will only stay on your device until you stop browsing. Persistent cookies stay on your browsing device until they expire or are deleted.

  5. How to Control and Delete Cookies

The web browser you are using to view the Website can enable, disable or delete cookies. To do this, follow the instructions provided by your browser (usually located within the “Help,” “Tools” or “Edit” facility). Please note that if you set your browser to disable cookies, you may not be able to access certain parts of the Website. Other parts of the Website may also not work properly. You can find out more information about how to change your browser cookie settings at www.allaboutcookies.org.
